HAZLETON — Dress for Success Luzerne County has announced that they have signed a lease for a satellite office to be located at 8 West Broad St. in Hazleton.
Linda Loop, Founder and CEO of Dress for Success Luzerne County, said she has known for some time that the services provided by Dress for Success Luzerne County were needed in Hazleton.
“We are honored to be able to expand our operation to better serve the women of Hazleton and lower Luzerne County,” Loop said. “Transportation has been a barrier for the women of Hazleton to get to our current location. So, it makes sense for us to bring our services to them.”
The agency plans to have the Hazleton office operational sometime in September and will plan a ribbon-cutting celebration for October.
Loop said the expansion has been made possible primarily through the generosity of the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund.
“The McGowan Foundation is very excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Dress for Success in its expansion into Hazleton,” said Gertrude C. McGowan, Esq., Director, William G. McGowan Charitable Foundation. “This expansion will now afford women county-wide with not only work-appropriate clothing, but also mentoring, resume building, and job readiness.”
Dress for Success Luzerne County Board Chair Holly Pilcavage of Coal Creative added, “This expansion represents a significant step in our mission to empower women and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in the workforce. We are dedicated to reaching even more women in our community, offering support, resources, and opportunities that will help them achieve their career goals and build a brighter future. We look forward to the positive impact this new location will have on the lives of many deserving women.”
