WILKES-BARRE — A man was stabbed during a “financial transaction” on Elm Street early Friday morning, several law enforcement sources said.
Wilkes-Barre police detectives along with detectives from the Luzerne County district attorney’s’s office were at the scene, including a state police trooper with the Troop P, Forensic Services Unit.
Detectives concentrated their efforts at 685 N. Washington St., which is at the corner of Elm Street.
Elm Street between North Washington and Wyoming streets was closed as detectives canvassed the neighborhood.
Police say a man was stabbed during what they suspect was a “financial transaction” inside the house with the disturbance expanding outside.
Several neighbors reported hearing police outside their houses at about 5:30 a.m.
At least one first floor window was smashed at 685 N. Washington St.
Police said the man was transported to an area hospital.
